Join us for our annual ride out to Le Touquet! Spinal Research in conjunction with www.knobblies.org (a big trail bike club) and the EuroKClub www.eurokclub.com is organising another fantastic Ride Out to Le Touquet, France. We’ll be leaving on 6th June, Saturday morning and staying the night, before returning on Sunday 7th June in the afternoon.

Some great routes have been recce’d and mapped out ready for you to ride! Just turn up on the Saturday and the ride out team will take care of you.

Tickets cost £50 per bike and £70 per trike and this will include your Eurotunnel ticket and a donation to Ride Out for Spinal Research. (Hotel reservations are separate, with costs to suit all budgets)

This is a great way to support Spinal Research, a cause close to bikers hearts and to also have a great weekend on your bike too!

Le Touquet is a lovely little town about 40 miles from Calais and it's where the L'Enduro beach races takes place each year. The plan is to take a leisurely ride over using some of the fantastic back roads in the area, getting into Le Touquet in time for lunch and a wander down to the beach! In the afternoon, you have the choice of going on a ride out to visit one of the many War Cemeteries in the area or to relax and have a few beers, before having dinner at one of the many eateries in town and then heading down to our chosen location for an evening social.

All routes into Le Touquet and for the ride outs are being organised by www.gpsbiker.cc and some great rides have been planned!

Whether you ride a Gold Wing, GSX-R or a Harley, you’ll be in good company and helping to raise funds to carry out vital research into spinal injuries.

Over two hundred bikes are expected to take part in the D-Day Ride Out for Spinal Research with bikes as different as Harley Electra Glides to BMW GS's already signed up.

A number of clubs & forums are involved, so if you are in a club remember that groups are more than welcome along! Reserve your space and become part of the posse of riders not only having an enjoyable day out, but also supporting the valuable research carried out by our team. Please help us spread the word and share this page with everyone that you know on two wheels.

Requirements

All riders need to ensure that they have and bring with them:

EHC Card, which has replaced the previous E111 forms - Applications can be made online at http://www.ehicard.org

A valid mot (if applicable)

A valid insurance certificate (which includes cover for France, if unsure, please check with your insurer)

Registration documents

A valid driving license (both parts)

Passport

Valid Breakdown cover (which includes cover for France)

Your channel tunnel reference number (which will be emailed to you by Spinal Research beforehand, this will be required at the check in at the Tunnel)

In addition, all riders must check their tyres, all lights and all engine fluids beforehand and ensure that their bikes are legal and in full working order and riders are appropriately dressed in protective equipment. Ride out leaders will have first aid kits and puncture repair kits will be available if needed, but we would ask as many riders as possible to bring their own.
