Charity events can do more than raise money for a good cause. They also represent a very constructive way for a company to demonstrate its commitment to building teams and morale.
In fact, any staff social activity can have a fundraising angle. Spinal Research’s fundraising team would be delighted to help with promotional materials to support your company’s fundraising .
Matched Giving
Some companies will match any money that a staff member raises at events like the Flora London Marathon, the 10K Road Race, or the Great North Run. They even match fundraising that you do yourself.
Payroll Giving
Employers: Payroll giving schemes are administered by a variety of organisations, the most well known being Give As You Earn, which is operated by Charities Aid Foundation. This is a simple way to support Spinal Research by encouraging staff to make regular donations from their pay. Some companies operate a matched giving scheme whereby they add to an employees donation and others cover the small administration fee.
Employees: If you are employed, check with your personnel or human resources department to see if your company/organisation participates in a payroll giving scheme. If so, you can ask to make a donation to Spinal Research directly from your salary. (If not, let us know and we can make an approach to your company on your behalf.)
The sum of your choice is deducted before tax. It then goes to Charities Aid Foundation, or one of the other payroll-giving organisations, who then pass the payment on to Spinal Research.
