Sunday 9th June 2013 and Saturday 1st September 2013
This exciting new challenge is one way to experience the London Olympic 2012 road race route, without having to qualify for the Olympics!
Starting in Richmond Park, this is a challenging ride covering 90 miles in one day. From the start point, the route heads out through Twickenham then on to Surrey, cycling through the villages near to Spinal Research HQ! Then it’s across Ranmore Common into Dorking and the first glimpse of Box Hill – the longest and steepest climb of the ride. The men’s Olympic road race will do the Box Hill circuit nine times before heading back to London – but you will only have to do it once!
After completing the Box Hill circuit, it’s a descent into Leatherhead, then back towards Hampton Court, Kingston on Thames and over Putney Bridge into Central London. The route then loops back past Buckingham Palace to the finishing point in Richmond.
To join Team Spinal Research for this exciting challenge, you will need to pay a £59 registration fee and we ask that you raise £120 for our vital research, or as much as you can. We’d love to have you on our team!
