Spinal cord injury and me

Spinal cord injuries are life changing for the individual, their families and friends.

A life-changing spinal cord injury can occur in a split second. It can happen to anyone, of any age at any time.

Injuries are not always caused through traumatic accidents. Many injuries occur as we go about our everyday activities. Others occur through an illness or disease which affects the spinal cord.

Although an estimated 60,000 people in the UK live with a spinal cord injury, a vast network of friends, families and loved ones make up the SCI community.

Our goal of finding a cure for paralysis provides hope for anyone affected by spinal cord injury.
