Help cure paralysis

Every day 3 people in the UK are paralysed due to spinal cord injury

Spinal Research is the UK’s leading charity funding medical research around the world to develop effective treatments for paralysis.

Spinal cord injury is devastating to the person, and their family and friends. More than 50,000 people in the UK and Ireland are living with paralysis caused by spinal cord injury. Our vision is a world where it is no longer a life sentence.

The first and foremost thing any research provides for someone in my position is hope. Without hope it is genuinely very difficult to even bother carrying on.

If I had more control of my arms I would be so much more independent. Little things like brushing my hair, putting my make-up on, writing at school.

Tackling Paralysis

Get involved in our Tackling Paralysis Campaign and help us raise awareness of the need for more research into the devastating effects of paralysis and raise funds to give hope to those living with a spinal cord injury.

With Jason Leonard, Saracens RFC, and our wonderful ambassadors we're kicking paralysis into touch.

This was all made possible because of our fantastic ambassadors Ben Kende and Peter Robinson. Prior to Ben’s accident his rugby coach in Hong Kong was Joe Shaw who is now the Skills Coach for the Saracens first team.

Research is working right now
