FAQs:

Is there a minimum age for taking part in the Great North Run?

Yes, all participants in the Great North Run must be aged 18 or older on Marathon Day – you will be asked to confirm your age when you enter the event.

If you are younger than 18, they do host a mini & junior version of these events. We unfortunately do not have places for these events but if you can get a ballot place, we would love for you to join us on #TeamSpinal. Find out more information here.

What is the registration fee and how much do i have to fundraise?

The registration fee for the Great North Run is £25.00 and we ask all our charity place fundraisers to raise a minimum of £300.

Please note there is a first fundraising target of £200.00 which is due on the 8th May 2024. The remainder of your fundraising target (£100.00) is due 4 weeks after the event.

Will i get a fundraising top to wear on the day?

Absolutely, we love to send our team a technical t-shirt to wear during the run. We will even get you an iron on name so you can personalise it.

These are usually sent out after your first fundraising target.

How will i get my race pack?

The Great North Run will send your race number and chip directly to your address if you are based in the UK. You will receive this around 2 weeks before the event.

Please note, The Great North Run are unable to post run packs outside of the UK as they cannot guarantee their safe delivery. They will be made ready for collection from the information point.

Can i take part in a wheelchair?

Absolutely, all Great Run events are suitable for wheelchair users. There will be a question on the event portal that will ask if you are a wheelchair user and if you will be participating in a self-propelled racing wheelchair, or if you will be participating in a standard wheelchair and will be assisted (pushed).
